opv vs VBR (using rb-opt)

has anyone else experience better results when using OPV instead of vbr? my last 5 encodes since last week has been outstanding when opv is used (original DVD size is 7+Gb).

I have had better results with 2 pass encode mostly because you can tweak bias setting which in opv (1-pass vbr) cannot (in opv bias=0).

It's not an issue of quality as much as it is sizing - OPV is somewhat inexact with the results. The quality gain from one or more VBR passes is usually negligable. That's why there are many people here that don't do more than 2 passes.
