Maybe you can include codecs and faulty appearances of a playbacked movie, ie - why this is so, and what Matrices are good for. Links should be sufficient, please feel free to delete this post, i dont want to spam, just pin-point at good info.

Was a very nice and good introduction (if you still can call it so) by the way!

what Matrices are good for.hm its not all-in-all possible to say what matrices are good for, they all have their different advantages and disadvantages
i think the hint "some better for low, some better for high bitrates" is enough

;) I've just tried playing the "Airshow" sample (I'm downloading the others) using VLC player... and it would not work!

Played fine using ShowTime Player though ;)

smd, i once tried to mux these samples into .mp4 and it worked great, thats all i remember about them :D

On a different note... The AR of the samples looks slightly off!

yeah the airshow sample is a bit weird - not even mplayer can play it - but muxing to mp4 helps :p .

regarding the AR - well I bet these samples come from Philips (there is also a decoder filter) :rolleyes: ...

FRExt means this for H264:
8,10 and 12 bit per color channel support. YUV 4:2:2 and 4:4:4.
