The Nudnik Speaks:
Any new builds out there based on latest CVS?
Use MingW (http://www.mingw.org/) to compile XviD yourself instead of asking here :D:p

Compiled by using MingW 4.0.5 alpha.
Don't know the speed different between gcc and ICL8.1 compiled version.
it may be broked:rolleyes:

What do you mean? Last time the CVS was updated, I did a compile. No point putting up new compiles if the code hasn't changed.

Well the last cvs update only effected encraw and the previous one only effected C code, so unless you disable asm it won't be much use. So basically there is no point updating.

I have to agree with celtic druid here - just compiling a new build because you can doesn't make any sense and blinds people that there changed something. Which simply didn't happen.
I suggest to read the change log more carefully before putting up a new build.
Thanks,
Cheers

People are tending to feel themself up-to-date. They think it's like Antivirus. Newer version is supposed to be more stable and better than previos. :)

File: vfw/src/config.c | Rev: 1.26 | Author: suxen_drol | Date: 2 days | Log: disable packed-bframes widget for dxn profile
suxen_drol

g'day. cvs was modified some time ago to force packed bframes under the dxn profile. DrJ recently reported problems (here) (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=97003), so to prevent future confusion, i have disabled the widget when dxn profiles are selected.

exactly what i want is the gcc non-p4 optimized version, not need to be up-to-date, 1.10 beta2 will satisfy me, because seems both koepi & nic's builds are icc compiled?(i'm not sure, anyone correct me?)
i'm experiencing drop frame while playbacking 1920x1080 XviD files, my system is a64 2800+ 1g ram, fireGL8800, screen res 1920x1440, but those files playbacks smoothly on my friend's p4 2.4, i thought maybe it's because the icc's f**king anti-amd policy? a few months ago i'm using CD's athlon optimized version, but i don't know how to get it now :( and i'm not familiar with gcc and can't get the source built...yeah i'm stupid...
sorry for the bothering

and i'm wondering why the directshowfilter-only build version is not up-to-date?

JimmyZ for Playback of Mpeg-4 part 2 content try libavcodec based solutions like ffdshow, should be still faster :)

wow great, ffdshow plays it at about 35~40% cpu consuming while xvid at 90~95%
thanks very much!
