autorun x264 in MPC

Decided not to create separate thread.

Trying to create an autorun with MPC's /filter to play x264 without installing any decoders.

DS H.264/AVC Decoder Filter 2.2 (vsshdsd.dll) is playing fine, but having troubles with seeking (report to devs, maybe?...).

ffdshow 20050406 isn't playing at all. Tried ffdshow.ax, ff_x264.dll and libavcodec.dll. Same directory contains all ffdshow's files.

Any suggesions?

MPC's filter chain: Default DS Device, Video Renderer, Audio Switcher, Color Space Convertor, AVI Decompressor (H264), filepath. Last 3 are greyed out.

ff_x264.dll is purely for encoding and ffdshow would require a registry entry telling it to decode x264.

You could use mplayer instead.

About your existing filter chain. Looks like a VfW decoder is being used.

regsvr32 ffdshow.ax /s
ffds-h264.reg
mplayerc.exe /filter "ffdshow.ax" filepath


ffds-h264.reg (for 2K/XP)

Files needed: ffdshow.ax, libmplayer.dll.

Um. But this IS the install, right?... And is there a way to make it complitely silent?

You could use mplayer instead.
