I am trying to do one track menu in the main menu but the first chapter is being left out from the track menu. Is it possible to insert the first chapter in the track menu?

I want to make the main menu as a motion menu with 2 buttons, chapters button and play button. If the chapters button is click, the track menu is popped up showing all the chapters, including the first one.

I know this is possible with other dvd authors but what i need to know is, if it is possible with TMPGEnc, and if so, how it is done.

Regards.

I have never seen that happen before, but you could try this (Instructions as per version 1.5)

When you add your file or existing DVD, after it is added, but still on the "add clip" window click on the "Chapter Cut Edit" button, on the right side of the new window will be the chapter list. If the point you want a chapter for is here, then you need to play with the menu settings.

If it is not here, see the big space type button at the bottom of the screen? "Add Current Frame To Chapter"

Scroll through the video until you get to the point you want the chapter to be (I am assuming very close to the start for what you want), when there, simply press this button. This will add a chapter point in the right order at the point you are at. Then just click ok to close the window and go on as normal.

Yes the chapter is in the chapter's cut edit menu. The problem is that the first chapter is added on the main menu and not on the track menu.

I believe it has to do with the menu settings but can't figure it out.

Well your options are to either add a second chapter point very close to the first one,(as described above) so the second one shows up in the track menu, or use only the track menu, then the first one will show up (which doesn't help you if you are using more than one track!)

On your main menu, in create menus mode, choose a style that has only 1 image file. Click on that image file and either scroll it to the image you want to see (motion or still) and leave it there.
That will show as your title menu image.

You also have the option, once you have clicked this image, of loading or using another file. For series, I use a video file, that I have set aside for either their credits or opening intro, then just select that file for show, setting the motion timing for the length of the clip.

Each of the epsiodes I just put in their own tracks, and will do 6-8 episodes per DVD (using shrink to compress the compilation to size).

BTW: Motion menus take a lot more room and take longer to author/complile.

Thanks for your suggestions. Will try them all.

One further question. Is it possible to replace the track menu link (in the main menu)with a button like "Play All"?

Go through the styles of menus and select one that has the Play All feature, on it main menu; so yes, you can do that.

Clearline,

I'm afraid I didn't explain myself well.

I know that there are menus with the "Play All" button but what I need to do is to add another one, preferably instead of the track menu link which will, still link to same track menu. In other words, I would like to change the "screen/monitor" (don't know what it's called, where you click and takes you to the track menu, the image thing) and replace it with a simple button keeping everything else the same. Hope I explained it well now.
