View Full Version : Why is RB-Opt doing this?

I'm trying to backup Ghost In the Shell 2. I run the prepare phase OK but when I try to tweak it in RB-Opt and press Save Settings it brings up this other window for OPV. I have the setting to VBR instead and don't understand why it is doing this.
I went through this before when I installed DVD-RB 0.86 but solved it by changing the CCE option from CCE Trial to CCE SP.
I just installed 0.91 and ran What Lies Beneath through it, tweaked the settings in Rb-Opt and saved them fine. Ran Ghost in the Shell 2 through and after tweaking I pressed Save Settings and intead of confirming popped up another window with some settings I can't clearly remember but if I pressed OK it would start encoding.
I have CCE 2.67, DVD-RB 0.91, RB-Opt 0.17. I have VBR set to 3 pass, Quantization to 4. I have tried switching frm CCE SP, Trial and 2.50. Any ideas what is causing this and what I should do? I do manually set the extras VOBs to Half-D1 and also unchecked this but it still produces the same error.
It runs fine in DVD-RB regular mode but there are some parts I need to tweak.

The reason for this behabiour is RBOpt way of working:

It assumes for a VOBID the encoding method of the last segment in such VOBID.

The solution is to select mannually VBR before trying to save.

Thanks, I'll try that as soon as I get off work. Only a couple of hours from now for me.Hmmm...never though it might be that simple. Hope it works, thanks again.

Well, solved it. What I did was uncheck Hide VOBs of Insignificant Size, Linked the VOBs and then put my setting and managed to save. Don't know why it's doing this now but at least it's working now. Thank for the advice anyways pg55555.

Could you send me the rebuilder.inf and the rebuilder.ecl created by DVD-RB (you should find them in D2VAVS directory, with the .original extension).
I would solve this.
My email is in the readme.txt in RB-Opt zipfile.
