OK been have some problems backing up some dvds. Here what I have been doing.
1. Decrypt with DvdDecryptor.
2. Split to 2 disks with InfoEdit.
3. Burn with DvD Shrink.
Lately i have been having this problem. After the first 2 steps. I open Disc 1 and Video TS file and copy the need files to both Disc 1 and Disc 2 files created by InfoEdit. When i open Disc1 in DVDshrink,
it says "Failed to open file VTS_01_8.VOB" I checked the original Video TS file and there's no VTS_01_8.VOB file. I can open the Video TS file with dvd shrink but something is up when I try to create 2 discs from the original movie.
What am I doing wrong?

hi there,
it seems u have things a little backward :o) or at least, it would be a lot easier if u pretty much reversed all the steps ur taking
it is far easier to rip with DVD shrink, which is more than capable of processing a DVD-9 down to a DVD-5. u can keep the menus, subtitles, certain audio tracks etc
then burn the ISO image file DVD shrink gives u using DVD decrypter, and ur done
saves u messing around with multiple disks and unwieldy vob file names etc

What are your steps for ripping with Dvdshrink and then burning with decrypter? I have no idea how to do it. If you can be specific it would be tremendous. Thanks much.

check out the DVD shrink guide, lots of useful info to be found in the guides section of the main doom9 page...

Doom9's Shrink guide is very good, as well as the ones found at DVDShrink.info (http://dvdshrink.info). Good "shrinking"!

well to be honest i do not see anything wrong with using dvddecrypter for ripping the original disc onto your hard drive.
in fact, i would highly recommend it - given that:
1: dvd decrypter is a dedicated program for the task
2: dvd shrink can not handle ARccOS protected discs.
now in regards to your errors, i am sorry to say, i have never used ifoedit to split a disc in two.
if this technique is something you wish to continue with (and why not? if you like the results, it is all that matters), then you may want to investigate other methods/programs for the task, in addition to ifoedit.
for example, i have heard a lot of users mention dvdfab for this process.
anyways, have a search, have a read, try some things out, and see which method suits your needs. either way, if you have any problems, post back, and we'll help you out as best we can.
cheers
