Can HC Encoder be used with DVD Rebuilder? I don't see any place to select HC Encoder in Rebuilders set up

Yes, if you have the Pro ver of DVD-RB it's easy.... With the free ver it's a little harder
Put HC in the same dir as dvd-rb and put an HC.ini file (optional) in the dir too... in dvd-rb setup point to HC Encoder where you would point to QuEnc.... pick QuEnc mode as your Encoder....then Encoded.

well, I tried that, when Rebuilder got to encoding started HC Encoder launched and is now just sitting there picking it's nose, its not encoding, but the encode button is greyed out, but nothing is happening. What gives?

What HC are you using? When you download HC Encoder you get two ver, a standalone encoder and a batch ver (HCbatch_014.exe)... the batch ver is the one you uses with dvd-rb.

well, the DVD I just did looks real good. Before I work on backing up all of these (Star Trek Next Generation Series) are there any special settings I should use in HC Encoder? For this first one I left eveything alone, it seems DVD Rebuilder sets everything for you

yeah, i'd like to know if the quenc options in rebuilder have any effect on the hc settings. would love to know much more about how this program works with RB.

@kenkong
My experience has shown that only scene detection works in HC with the QuEnc options. HC encodes in normal no matter what quality setting
you tick in QuEnc. That is one reason I made a donation to get the DVD-RB Pro version.:)

Not all the settings are read by HC from the QuEnc command line from dvd-rb just the needed ones, max bitrate, avg bitrate, input avs, output avs, scene detection, interlaced or progressive and somemore... the rest are read by the HC.ini files you can make... matrix, where to save hc's logfile, profile(hc's quality setting), dc_prec and more.
*matrix QLB
*logfile C:\DVD-RB\test.log
*profile best
*dc_prec 10
*WAIT 0

If you want to encode in best mode in RB Basic, you just have to create a HC.ini with the setting and it will encode in best mode. (That way you can also change the Matrices and especially *Wait 0 ;) )
