I am trying to back up Star Trek Next Generation series (and about ready to give up) I am using DVDRebuilder. With QuEnc I get great picture quality, no motion blocks, but I get white or colored blocks that flash through the screen for a second, it happens every few minutes. With ReJig I get not real good picture quality and I get motion blocks every now and then. I know from experience that TV shows are hard to encode. I would like to use QuEnc if possible. Does anyone know why I get the colored blocks and if there is a way to set QuEnc so I don't have this problem? If anyone has any advice on how best to copy this tv series please let me know, and please include settings I need, thanks

I think that they have talked about colored dots in the output before and they said that it might just be a display issue on your computer and you can try to update your video drivers. Also, what version of quenc are you using and have you tried HC encoder (everyone is saying it is close to CCE)

no I am seeing the colored blocks on my HDTV not my computer. I am using QuEnc 0.49 beta 4. I would really appreciate an answer to this problem, other than the colored blocks the pic quality is great. I haven't heard of HC Encoder, would it be better to use it?

I think that you'll have a better luck if you post your problem on the Encoders Forum HERE (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=62)

(deja vu... http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94352 )

Anyway, what ver of dvd-rb are you using?

I am using QuEnc 0.49 beta 4.

You should upgrade to >=QuEnc .54 http://www.pcpages.com/dragongodz2/

Better quality with QuEnc.54 and higher.. And probably less buggy.

HC Encoder http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=93211 is real good at just about everything.. For me, a little better quality then quenc and can be used in-place-of quenc in dvd-rb.
