Extremely Slow DV capture

Alright i just built a new computer.

and a quadro 4 980xgl


now, when i capture video on this system, i get horrible horrible capture rates. like 20fps WITH DV!

on my other systems i get atleast 200

i was wondering if maybe someone else was having slow hd issues with the gigabyte? or if it could possibly be a drive problem. Thankyou

That's not possible. DV capturing is always realtime, you can't capture 200fps or only 20.

You probably mean encoding, right ?

no, like on scenalyzers hd speed test, i get 24 fps instead of 200


and i actually drop frames while actually capturing

it has to be some sort of problem with the sata driver right?

I see. Check that DMA mode is enabled. To do that, go into device manager, double click on the ATA channel where the device is connected to, and see if DMA mode is being used.
Without DMA enabled, you'll lose alot of performance.
