View Full Version : Run-time error 5
hi,
i tried my favorite (not preprocessed the incredibles, R2, movie only, no compression, 1 audio + 2 subpicture stream).
edit: forgot to mention that i'm obviously using the latest rb (0.91)...
immediately when i hit prepare, i get run-time error 5.
last lines in the status box are
-- ANGLE and/or INTERLEAVING is present.
-- Scanning and writing .D2V file
-- Video demultiplexing...
D2AVS directory has V01.D2V

just an update. i did something that should not be done (i know):
prepared with 0.90.
encoded and rebuilt with 0.91
this worked w/o errors, but obviously the output has the same flaws as described in another thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94011)

So it started in v0.91?
yes sir.
0.90 managed to prepare, encode and rebuild,
but the output was not 100% correct (see the other thread).
0.91 doesn't even prepare.

I can confirm the same error. But I did start with an empty Working Path before starting.
The error occurred on Phantom of the Opera. No pre-processing and mounted as an ISO. I rolled back to .90 and everything worked fine.
I was also using Movie Only. Just tried unselecting Movie Only and it worked fine. It also worked fine with Movie and Menus only. I only get the error with Movie Only selected.

Thanks. That'll help nail it down.

No pre-processing and mounted as an ISO.
Checked Mode Movie Only.
I uncheck the only Subtitle that I have (because I don't want it), and when I click over Prepare button, I get error 5.
If I pre-process with DvdShrink (no compression) and I remove the subtitle, all rights.

Alright, I need some help here. I've so far bought 3 DVDs that were reported by to someone cause this error. I've run them every way I can think of and can't force this error. Can someone tell me an NTSC disc that will cause this error every time.

Bryan I'll be trying "Phantom" tonight. I hope to hell I can repeat this at least once. Are you removing any audio/subpicture streams?

Just tried Phantom again, and did get the error.
I am only keeping the English subtitles as well as the 6 channel AC3 English.
Just for grins I selected all audio and subtitles and got the error too.
I ripped the DVD via DVD Decrypter 3.5.4 as an ISO image and mounted via Daemon Tools 3.4.7. I am on XP Pro SP2 and using a Pentium 4 2.8.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.

@bryanb
Could you please send me your REBUILDER.INI file ( dvd-rb@dvd-rb.com ) so I can reproduce your setup exactly. I really want to fix this error.
