View Full Version : DVD to Windows Media Maker/Premiere Pro

I want to rip a movie from DVD, then edit bits of it with either Windows Media Maker or Adobe Premiere Pro. I've ripped the DVD with DVD Decrypter, then converted it with AutoGordian Knot to an AVI that plays fine in Windows Media Player. But when I try to import it into Media Maker, it tells me it has to shut down. When I try with Premiere Pro it just hangs there for hours with nothing happening.

I read another post which suggested it could be a problem with file size and RAM. The file size is 700MB or slightly more. My computer's RAM is 512MB. If this is the problem, is there a way I can split files to make them manageable?

I'd be very grateful for any help. Let me know if there's more information I need to give.
