Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem i am.

I have a pioneer dvr a09xl (its the dual layer burner) I can rip with dvd shrink and dvd decryptor just fine, but when i drop a dvd to burn DVD Decryptor says i only have half of the total space available.

what gives?

So, can i successfully burn the iso's i create w/dvd decryptor using nero?

Thanks!

KC

You have to shrink most dvds you get because they're DVD9 and your blanks are probably DVD5.

Your drive being a 'double layer' burner means nothing if you're not using double layer media.

the blank media i'm using is dvd9. but it doesnt matter if its dvd 9 or dvd5 because dvd decryptor always displays the media as only having half the capacity. Sooooooooooo, placing a dvd9 in the burner will display as dvd9 but only having 4.5 gb available and placing 2vd5 will will show up correctly as a dvd5 but only having 2.x available.

So i'm wondering if anyone else has seeing this or if i can use nero to burn the isos generated by dvd decryptor.

I don't doubt you, but do you have proof of this?

A copy + paste of the info text on the right in ISO Write mode when you've got a DL disc in the drive would be nice.

If I put a DL disc in my 109, it finds the full capacity just fine.

Are you sure you're not looking at the 'sectors' value? DVD5 has ~2.2 million sectors, DVD9 would therefore have almost double that.

Here is mine:

HA!

Just after i replied i realized i should've tried to burn a dvd first and sure enough it worked out fine.

Thanks for letting me know about the sectors, that;s what was tripping me up.

Take it easy!
