I set DVD Rebuilder for 7 pass VBR and it's giving all my files a setting of OPV: Q 20. Is this a bug?

Do you do any preprocessing?

Are you using RBOpt to tweak the bitrate or change anything else? Or to look at the bitrate?

I've used DVD Remake to remove some trailers. I tried RB-Opt but it doesn't allow you to remove anything.

Do the Prepare step over again. Don't use RBopt and see what happens. Sometimes RBopt can act a little funny as it's not been updated in a while.

It's possibly a bug, but are you sure it's happening to all your segments?

The last few versions have changed the way short segements (<60 frames) are encoded, so they may be encoded using VBR regardless of your encoder settings.

I did the prepare step only and it gives each segment OPV, but when I manually change it to VBR I get set bitrates.

video_type=4 is OPV for CCE 2.67 Retail and CCE 2.70, but it's VBR for 2.67 trial.
What version are you using?
could you post the first rows of the rebuilder.inf?

Thanks, that might help but that's the REBUILDER.INF file -- I'd like to see REBUILDER.INI (located in the DVD Rebuilder directory. Also, could you give the complete version number. As I recall, the parameter changed during v2.67... I think it may have started at 2.67.0.27 (not positive though).

Was the parameter set to "16" for VBR for all of the retail 2.67 versions? For some reason I thought it had started at either 2.67.0.23 or 2.67.0.27...?? If so that may be why ZuZu is getting OPV.

I just tested it with 2.67.0.27 retail version, and it works fine. Something is wrong... your REBUILDER.INI file doesn't have the path for CCE in it. It shouldn't be able to work at all without that. Have you gone into SETUP and pointed to the CCE executable?

Without that in the path, DVD-RB can't even tell what version you have... and it can't run it.

:confused: Something isn't right here. Are you sure you pulled this file from the right directory?

Please let me know how it turns out. I'm pretty sure that will fix it.

I'd still like to know how you encoded it -- because it couldn't work without the path... That could be the source of numerous problems without the path statement -- lots of incorrect assumptions may be made.

I guess I'm going to have to add some code that won't allow PREPARE without the encoder path specified.

It seems you decided to leave off a "little detail" when reporting this error. :sly: This is a self-inflicted wound.

I managed to encode it because of the ecl file that was created. I specified the path and let DVD Rebuilder handle the encoding this time and it all turned out ok.

Would it be possible to encode only certain segments? because my pc crashes sometimes and then I have to start all over again.

If you use "Three Click Mode" Rebuilder will start to encode from the last successful file as soon as you hit the "Encode" button.
