Philips SAA7134 card droping frames

I just installed FlyVideo PLatinum card based on SAA7134 chip.
I noticed that it drops frames at exactly 6 min intervals

I also have a CX23883 based cards in the same PC and no problems there.

I use the latest WDM drivers for Philips SAA713x

I already tried removing the CX23883 based card and switching to different slots, nothing helps. I even did clean reinstall of Windows XP.

I also have a RAID array for capturing video so disk speed shouldn't be an issue here.

This issue is from the different timing between sondcard and tv-card. Some dshow capture applications allow you to select the sound input from the saa1734 (which is 32khz only from my experiences unfortunately).

In that mode, sound and video are absolutely in sync and no frame drops will be caused by that.

Also you should note that there are newer drivers over at Lifeview (http://www.lifeview.com.tw/html/downloads/internal_tv/flytv_prime_3x_series.htm).

in my cases it must be something else cause even if I disable audio capture and just do the video I still get dropped frames.

I also noticed that at the time of the frame drop there is a sudden increase in CPU usage.

Looks to me tehre is some kind of problem in my configuration.

But the strange thing is that this only happens with the Philips based cards.

What program do you use to capture? It might be worth trying VDub 1.6.5 if you haven't already done so.

yes I tried VDub 1.6.5 and tried also every possible driver in existence

I am using the same chip and the driver from the same site (generic 2.3.1 Philips driver). I did a quick check, but no spikes or dropped frames every 6 minutes. I have a 17% CPU spike every two minutes that is not related to capping, but that one does not cause dropped frames.

Do you have this with every source? For instance, does it happen if you capture from a DVD player?

Yes I use DVD player as a source. I think its my system.

But then why is it that if I put a CX23881 card in it doesn't drop any frames ?

IF it was my system setup shouldn't it be happening with both cards ?

This was capping at 704x576, 25 FPS, huffy and 48 kHz PCM sound using VirtualVCR under Windows XP sp2.

I have no idea why the CX works. Do both cards end up with the same interrupt?

I don't know if it's the same interrupt. I already took it out. I think I'll just use the CS card. There no visible difference between these to cards anyway
