corrupt dvd

ok i didn't know where to post this so it's here
a while back i made dvds of stuff on my camera. now i want to condense those into just a couple of dvds. when i put them into my comp the dvd rom won't read them it says they're blank and corrupt.
the part that kills me it they work fine in my standalone player.
is there any way to get my comp to read them?

I've found IsoBuster really useful for discs that Explorer refuses to read. It sounds kinda weird if it's a standard DVD video though...

you didn't burn -R with a lite-on/sony burner did you? that's usually the problem i find. if you shove the thing in the drive enough times, the computer might eventually read it.

or you could try a different drive (most people have an old one lying around...)

Or did you burn +R with version 6.xx (sorry, can't remember the exact version)? I had this problem recently: +R DVDs appeared empty in Explorer after burning but Nero could see their contents when I chose "continue multisession" (even they weren't multisession in the first place...)

I've had two weird Nero bugs like that since version 6.3 so the first I do when strange burning problems happen is to install another version of Nero (newer or older, if still available...)

Yeah, try a different second DVD drive. I also have had problems with burnt DVDs that work in one Drive but not another :sly: and others from the same batch vice versa. Plus you may want to get some silver polish and try gently polishing the troublesome DVD on both sides with a soft cloth. It will take several minutes and the polish residue will eventually go to looking like a faint powder. wipe over this with a clean cloth briefly, then try your disc again. It worked for me on a few discs but not all....
