Wanna know the cheapest way to get legal XP Pro (or home)?

Buy a copy of Windows95 for like $5 then buy the upgrade to XP for like $50! I swear, it works, and the upgrade is exactly the same as full... you just need to "verify" that you were a previous user of windows before hand. :D

Or if you got ANY copy of windows 95, 98, NT 3 or higher, or 2000, your eligable for the upgrade version. There's not real point to pirating. lol.

Win95 is not able to upgrade to XP, nor is WinNT versions or Win2K...

Interesting! I should take a screenshot. I got a first edition windowsXP Pro upgrade CD (I slipstreamed it to SP2 now). It says Windows 95 and NT are both eligable! That's weird. maybe they changed it. :P

I remember reading way, way back that it was not able to upgrade from NT and I myself remember something about Win95a as well...

Maybe they are just saying that to get you to pay full price instead of just upgrade?

maybe I should tell my grandmother, she bought her pc and it had a homeburnt xp home with a lop-sided lable :eek:

movmasty: I guess I'm one of the few that does still recall that nick. You do realize we have since created a rule especially for you: rule 11. Now I see you starting the same behavior again. Posting just for posting's sake has never been and will never be acceptable behavior on this board. So either you adapt right now, or face the consequences for breaking the rules again and again.
