View Full Version : ogm to avi
Is there any possible way to convert from ogm to divx/xvid? How?
Thanks in advance.
Open the OGM in virtualdubmod. Select "direct stream copy" for the video stream.
Now go to "file"-"save", select AVI as output format, enter an appropiate filename and you're done.

dont forget the audio in OGM files is presumably ogg vorbis... so you need to convert it to mp3.
Use full processing mode for audio and select a mp3 encoder...
The audio is in AC3 format.
Any special recommendations?

Then you only need to do what Koepi said. Unless you want to convert AC3->MP3 to keep the total filesize low.

One can save a few precious megs using mp4 as container. Better option, of course, will be go out of DivX-XviD area altogether and head for H.264...
Regards.
"Better" is such a subejctive term - especially in this case. Maybe he needs to strip his file so he can playback it on a standalone player - most of which aren't capable of reading mp4 or even decode h264.

We remember gratefully what exciting alternative to DivX you have given us. Every encode, and we pay you tribute.
Hey, why don't you think about an exciting variant of H264? Although, there are some, but something coming from a source as proven as you...
This post is a passing thought, somewhat off-topic. Allow me to apologize for that.
Regards.
