I have an AVI file in 2.35:1. I want to convert it to a dvd still keeping the 2.35:1 aspect ratio. What is the best way of doing so? I am using TMPGEnc but will use any other software. thanks.

In TMPGEnc, set the aspect ratio to 16:9, the source aspect ratio to 1:1 and keep aspect ratio in full screen. You will get anamorphic since your source is 2.35:1. Skip the project wizard and start a new project, then will TMPGEnc set most of the setting right for you. Just remember to change the framse size to a valid DVD format.
