I was wondering if there is a way to add a button to a menu that also has a background text in it. I used dvdremakepro to combine 2 split discs. It created a start menu that lets you pick disk 1 or 2 but i also wanted to add a button the the menus to go to the other disk. So if i pick disk1 on the start menu, it sends u to that menu but when u are there, i want to place a button that says "disk2" so u can jump the to other disk. I added a button but there is no text or image that explains what it does.
so basically i would want to know how to place a button that also has a background image to it. And im not refering to placing a button over an existing image or text. I mean, placing a new button on the menu and it will include the text with it.
is this possible?
thanks
Jay
I donīt really know if I understood your question but what I think you need is that the same menu behaves differently if you come from Disk1 or Disk2. If this is it, you can do this by creating 2 highlights and actually write DISK1 and DISK2 as your subpicture mask. Then you can use Type2 CMD (Set Highlight and Jump) has POST CMD of Disk1 and Disk2 contents to highlight the desired selected button.
Is this what you intended?
you have to change the background image so that it has the text of the button (otherwise the button won't be wisible unless you navigate to it). then you may want to change the button highlights so that it will indicate that it is active and/or selected.

So what is a Subpicture mask?
and how would i write DISK1 to it so itwill display disk1?
or is it just not possible to have text in a button unless it is on the background image and you place the button over the text in the image?
thanks
J
it's the mask that is going to be used when you highlight the menu button or when you actually click the button to give a visual feedback to the user, what's happening.
you need to change the background image (video). is it still or motion menu? if it's still just save it as bmp (or choose your format) and add text DISK1 to the picture, convert it to mpeg2 and remux. if it's motion, pretty much the same procedure, but adding the text is a bit more complex.
the actual button itself doesn't contain any text. it just defines the frame (coordinates) where it's clickable, command to be executed, adjacent buttons and info like that.

How do u create a mask that has the TEXT in it? and how to add it to the button. I currently use menuedit... can it be done with that?
If the button will show the text when its highlighted, that will be better than showing nothing.
thanks for the replies..
J
noup, not with menuedit.
you need to remux the subpicture stream (containing the highlishts) into the vob.
