resizing video in recode 2

i am trying to improve the video quality of nd recode 2 by keeping the video bitrate constant while modifying the size of the video. but for some reason that is not working. does anyone have any similar experience?

Resizing works fine for me, I don't know about the quality of the output.

Can you be more specific about the type of problem? Is there no quality improvement, or does it crash, or what?

sorry if i wasnt clear enough but this is in reference to quality. i'm noy seeing any noteable quality improvements when i resize.

i'm using max definition avc at about 1 Mbps. i was attempting to resize the video while keeping the bitrate fixed to improve video quality. could the lack of improvements mean that recode resize is optimal for that bitrate?

That could well be the case. The folks at Ateme do a lot of testing with their codecs, so their automatic resizing is probably very well tuned. Also, Max Definition AVC @ 1Mbps is pretty powerful, so the artifacts may be harder to notice
