AVC to DVD5?

I want to write AVC video file to DVD5. What is the best way?

I know that DVD maximum file size is limited to 2 Gb. So, should I write three 1.7 Gb files to DVD? Then how I can watch movie without stopping (without manually opening new .mp4 file from DVD)?

Actually, DVD max size is 4500 MB. The 2 GB limit you were talking about is the filesize limit for FAT32.

Do you want to burn the mp4 to DVDR or to burn it as DVD-Video?
To burn the mp4, just open nero and do it like you would normally do when burning a file (select DVD instead of CD where you can).
If you want to burn to DVDR to play it in player, you must first convert AVC+AAC to MPEG2+AC3/M2A. Use DVD2SVCD. You can find links and guides in the DVD2SVCD forum (there are 2 forums actually)

I want burn it as MP4 file. But how I can tell Nero do not use FAT32? :confused:

Will such DVD play by all DVD-ROMs? :eek:

The FAT32 limit is 4GB's. Burn as UDF and not ISO.

Well, the DVD video standard works on UDF. So, its a fairly safe bet that most DVD-Roms and standalones can read UDF DVD's.

your main problem i would think would be finding a standalone that can play avc...

as for computers, then so long as the disc is burnt properly (no using lite-on/sony drives to burn -R media, as it'll most likely give you trouble. they are only good on +R in my experience), it'll read in anything that reads DVD-ROM.

i had some trouble on my 5 year old samsung DVD-ROM drive, but i'm pretty sure that was the discs.

I am sorry, but i have Sony DRU500A since 2002, and it burns great quality and fully compilant DVD-R discs w/o any problem.

I am not sorry, but i have Liteon 401S@411S since 2004, and it burns great quality and fully compliant DVD-R discs w/o any problem. Although original 401S offically can't

in fact, i already tried to play a Xvid file >2GB (DVD5) on my Keyplug 4810, and he didn't play the file to the end, he finished in the middle. :scared:
