View Full Version : First time converting...
Hi all,
I got a troublemaker over here. A file in mkv that I need to convert to avi file. I use VirtualDubMod and in stream list i get this:
http://student.foi.hr/~sakocija/mkv.JPG
and what now?
I've seen a lot of windows with this stream list, but I have only one stream....
btw I tried mkvextractgui and it extracts to Track1.avi and Track2.aac. But when i go to VDM and then try to make a avi I can't import this aac file.
please help a newbie
Welcome to forum.
It is not possible to mux .aac with VD or VDM.
Use AviMuxGUI for it to mkv container.

thx for the welcome, I did what u said, I opened the program and drag&dropped avi and aac file and then made it into one avi file. But now the Aspect Ratio is changed, the picture is shrinked on left and right side of the screen (watching with BSPlayer) and i don't wanna press a for different AR every time. BTW how to change this aac to mp3 so it's standard avi file?
thanks

BTW how to change this aac to mp3 so it's standard avi file?mp3 in avi is in no way "standard", in contrary vbr mp3 isnt even really supported in avi correctly
why do you need avi? as eb wrote its better to go with mkv, which means keep your file as it is
for some guy, he doesn't want this mkv files... I thought putting aac to mp3 and then joining audio and video im avimux... but how to convert aac to mp3 or something more appropriate?
you will have to reencode the video too to get a normal resolution in avi
for how to reencode audio and video :search:
I tried to change AR with MPEG Modifier but nothing...damn.
btw no one anwsered how to convert aac to somethin else like ac3 or mp3, and please recomend some GUI program that's easy to use...
thanks
