don't use nero for burning video files, try using clonedvd2 or making it into a image with imgtool classic then use dvd decrypter. It's a error I had with nero I just stopped using nero and everything played fine. Sorry wrong place. (Problems playing encodes on stand-alone DVD).

Yeah... wrong place but I would just like to add that I use DVD Shrink to create an iso (and check the output) and burn with DVD Decrypter. Works just fine. I've had problems with Nero also.

Yeah, what bonefish said... What problem, I've never had a problem burning DVD's with Nero (almost 1000 now...yes)... other then a few issues with the wrong title for the disc (Nero was naming the disc "New")

I've used NERO and other burners for years. NERO's my favorite. Easy to use and no CD or DVD burning problems, except for disc naming problem that was previously mentioned and warnings when blank VOB's are present. Just a thought. Seems I remember once reading that if there is more than one burning progy on your computer the drivers can sometimes conflict and cause problems. :)

I've used nero 5.x and 6.x for over 1500 burns and never had an error or problem not even with disc naming.

Have to chime in too. I hear how bad Nero is supposed to be is some of the posts, but I have burned 100's of DVD's with it, and they've played perfectly in a host of DVD players. I don't know what variables are at the root of these burning problems, but I do believe there's more than Nero at issue.

Well my experience is somewhat different. In most cases Nero does a great job. I use it to burn the video_ts folder and they usually work. Sometimes they only work on 3 out of 4 of the dvd players in my house.
I can take the same video_ts folder, run it through shrink (to make the .iso file), and have shrink run dvd decrypter to burn the .iso to the disc. This disc plays on 4 out of 4 players in my house.
It is not always that I have to do this process, but it does happen sometimes.
I have used Nero for years (5.5) for CD and lately for DVD. Made about 100 burns OK, than it started to make some media in my Toshiba 5112 unreadable @ x4 speed. Switched to ImageBurn and now it is burning @6 and everything fine. Wierd, Imagetools use Nero ASPI.
