DVI-I Output to Monster Cable DVI400 connector?

Hi guys,
I purchased recently a Monster Cable DVI400 cable, to connect my HDTV to my PC video card that has an DVI output.
The connectors don't match, the Monster Cable one is wider then the one on video card.

Is there an adapter that I could purchase, in order to make them compatible?
What is the best solution to connect your PC to a HDTV TV?

The connection in the first pic is a normal single link DVI cable. It has to match the one on the graphics card. So either you are doing something wrong (nope, there is no adapter, as there isn't a connection that looks like DVI but it's wider), or the cable is faulty.

What do you mean by that ?
There are no adapters for 24 pins to 12 pins. A cable with 12 pins can just plug into a 24 pins DVI port, and only use 12 pins of it. No adapter is needed.

Ok, the Monster cable will fit fine on the back of my TV/DVD, I can connect them fine. It came factory sealed from Monster Cable company.
However, in the videocard I own, the DVI output is is not as wide as the cable connector. I always thought they are the same???

I will keep the cable, I got it for 25$ on eBay, a real bargain for a 5meters cable that retails 200 bucks...
