Hi.
Like many others here on the forum, im a StarTrek fan. So i decided to do a DVD with the Season 4 episodes of StarTrek enterprise. I have the HDTV rips and i used thees to split and recode them to one mpv file(mpeg2) and one mp2 file (mpeg).I did this with D.I.K.O (great program by the way). I then used DVDlab to create a DVD and then burned it.

Now for the problem. Some of the episodes give me unsynced sounds. But not all of them. And some have diffrent kinds of sync problems.I tryed to nput ep 1-8 in season 4.
Ep 1 = Workes fine
Ep 2 = Workes fine at start and slightly gets out of sync in the end. (about 200-400ms or somthing)
Ep 3 = Workes fine
Ep 4 = Is about 300ms out of sync from start to end. No increase.
Ep 5 = Same as Ep 4 but less sync (100ms maybe)
Ep 1 = Workes fine
Ep 1 = Workes fine
Ep 1 = Workes fine

When i check the original files there is no diffrence beetween them. Same encoders and encoder settings. Another thing is that is strange. When opend in virtualdub, all of them are out of sync (by up to 7 secounds) except Ep5. That one i ripped myself from a HDTV file. Made in virtualdub. All orgininal files are perfectly synced (played in bsplayer) and if i play the final DVD in my DVD drive they are all synced (except for Ep4 that is slightly out of sync)

So what is the problem? What did i do wrong? What makes some files work fine and some dont? One more thing. When i import the mpv files into dvdlab I see, under the system column, that some of the files says 2:3 pulldown and some sah NTSC. But the ones that doesnt work are both NTSC and pulldown. So are the working ones.

Ayone have any idees? Would be most greatful. Thank you for you response.

I've heard of this problem before with specifically star trek. I'm guessing it's the pulldown flag but not entirely sure of the way to correct it. Maybe you could try to remux them with dvdauthor (free). dvd2dvd no longer requires $38,000 scenarist ya know. It comes with dvdauthor.
