"MP4Shrink" ... !!?

FilmShrink (http://filmshrink.sourceforge.net/shots.html) is certainely the best (and most beautiful) RV10 gui for easiest RV10 encoding ...

Why not try to make "MP4Shrink" with these CLI:

- ISO 14496-2 (Video): MPEG4 ASP XviD with XviD.exe or mencoder.exe
- ISO 14496-3 (Audio): LC-AAC with faac.exe
- ISO 14496-10 (Video): MPEG4 AVC x264 with x264.exe
- ISO 14496-14 (Container): mux, split, join with mp4box.exe
- ISO 14496-17 (Subtitles): mux with mp4 box

If possible with that:

- Avisynth pre-process for video (very important for quality)
- BeSweet pre-process for audio (very important for quality)
- credit separed encoding (very important for quality ... IMO with credit edition x264 is better than NDAVC with best setting in Nero Recode)

This soft would be certainly the most popular of the Open Source Soft

If you add MeGui with robot4rip, it´s exactly this. And don´t forget AutoAC which is a real "beginnertool" and really creates interests for mp4 for a big audience. Not all people can create a Avisynthskript (but I would never miss this).

you know I'd gladly accept volunteers to help expand MeGUI.. those that have given feedback have asked for more automatization so that'll be the direction to go to.. and that's the same thing being asked for in this thread. I have a job, a long commute and a site to run so my time to work on MeGUI is more than limited. I'm amazed it has come so far, and except for CelticDruid and stax given a few welcome pointers, nobody has even come close to helping with the development side of things :(

testers are generally easy to come by if you create something new...

it was not perceived as such. But these days we are no longer in the situation where we need designers of tools that do nothing but tell a programmer what to do.. there is so much experience and knowledge around that it becomes very easy to figure out what should be done.. same goes for testing. All that remains is finding the programming manpower. So all those "wouldn't it be nice if ... yadda yadda yadda" are rather uproductive... find a software that's a good starting point, and get coding. Rare are the occasions where a programmer wouldn't find people to give advice on how to proceed (from a design and functionality viewpoint... the difficulty often lies with coding).
