I'm not sure if this is the right place for this post. I'm using Nero Vision Express 3 to encode a movie from avi to DVD format. However I get this error: "Unable to prepare data for recording: Prepare session failed: Transcoding of video files failed."
I'm sure its something that I have done but I'm not sure what. I'm trying to burn it directly to DVD after it is done transcoding. I think it might be something with the avi file. It has happened on three occasions. I have had two successful burns with the exact same settings and process just different avi files. Another thing that I noticed is that when I'm previewing the movie for chapter marks or editing, there is no sound. This only occurs on the avi files that cant get past the prepare phase. If I have audio during the preview then I know it will work, if no audio, then I get the error described above when I try to burn the movie. Any suggestions?
*EDIT* I forgot to mention that the avi file plays fine in winamp and VDub. So it has to be something with Nero not likeing the file. But I'm not sure what.
