Basic DVD Rip

I have a non movie DVD that is actually only a few megs (it didn't even need to be on dvd).

Is there a simple way I can just rip the video straight off as it is, or with some basic compression?

The only way I can see is the lengthly divX way.

It was still a DVD format, just very small, I didn't know if there was an easy was to do it.

However I realised I had been a bit hasty in my searching of Doom9's guides and missed the AutoGK one which did the job more than nicely - I sometimes wonder where I would be without this site!
