.VOB to Mpeg-2 program stream conversion

Hello all,

I would like to relocate my large DVD collection to a new hard drive I have purchased. I have no use for 5.1 sound, subtititles, or extra features, nor would I like to invest in the small amount of space to keep them. My plan is to Demux the streams of the VOB files with DVDdecrypter and remux them into a normal MPEG following this guide. http://forum.dvddecrypter.com/index.php?showtopic=18424 (note you have to be a member to view the post I think.) I also should then be able to view them with any MPEG-2 player. Is there any risk involved in using those programs? If so, what should I use intead? I noticed they are not mentioned by anyone on this site, which makes me worry.

For all of us who are not members of that site, why don't you tell us what the programs are and what the process is?

First they Demux using dvddecrypter

Then they use this to correct the ac3 delay http://home.t-online.de/home/520072193568-0001/

And then they remux using this http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~yyyyyy/ImagoMPEG-Muxer.exe

Other than decrypter I have never heard of any of these programs before.

All three that you mentioned are well-known, commonly used programs. Why don't you try them out?

I just wanted to make sure there were no serious known bugs or risk involved in their use. As I said, I couldn't find any posts referencing those programs here. If they are commonly used, I will indeed give them a try. Thanks neuron2
