There doesn't seem to be very many usefull reviews around.
What DVD Authing proggies are popular?
I'm looking for something with the stunning visuals and ease of use of Ulead DVD WS 2.0, however DVDWS crashes non-stop on me. It also needs to support Playlists.
I've tried:
-Ulead DVDWS2 (Birlliant media, clunky GUI, fantastic themes that autocreate most of the project for you, crashes non-stop)
- Sonic DVDit 2.5 (no playlists, Ok GUI, Not spectacular media, downloading v. 5)
- Sonic DVD Professional 5 (No decent media, cluttered and clunky GUI, Menus have to be pieced together bit by bit)
- Sonic ReelDVD (I just didn't understand this one's workflow at all. It was useless)
- Adobe Encore 1.5 (nothing is automatic. I spent hours and hours trying to do the menu, which *still* isn't done)
- Sony DVD Architect 2.0 (no playlists, have to set dozzens and dozzens of "next action". Not much media, v. fast GUI, Menus seem to automatically create themselves with thumbnails, which was not quite what I wanted)
Where is the Firefox of DVD creation?
- Nice fast GUI, unclutered and using standard windows conventions with slid in/out dockable windows (see Encore and DVD Architect)
- Beautiful content to use a backdrops, overlays and buttons (DVDWS2.0)
- Supports all the advanced features like playlists, motion menus, auto thumbnail creation, motion buttons (DVDWS2.0)
- Has a great asset tracker (DVD Architect, Encore)
- Inherently stable (Encore)
- Inherently fast (DVD Architect)
- Options from full automatic creation of everything (including encoding) (DVDWS2.0) to fully manual creation (Encore, DVDWS2.0) and everything in between.
I don't ask that much do I? : )
