How do you make high quality jacket images?

I am using TMPGExpress and everytime I convert the pictures to the Jacket Format, each of the resolution looks horrible. Is there some way to achieve a higher image quality when making them?

Here's an old thread that discusses jacket pictures (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24420). I haven't used the guide that is linked to from within the thread, so I have no idea of how difficult it is to work with.

Thanks. I already saw that in my search. I was hoping that there was some new method of making better images since the last time that thread was active.
