MY dvd won't read MY burned discs?

hi

i have lg gce-8526b (i also had msi cr52-m before - same problem) cd-rw
and lite-on JLMS XJ-HD163 dvd-rom which wont read cd's burned on my comp... and some (not all) - around 80% can - cd's burned with other comps/burners...

dvd's reads perfect... also cd's that come with magazines or hardware...

i burn with nero express. always with default settings at 24x speed

cd media doesn't matter (although i didn't try that solution - i just use media as it comes - mostly traxdata)

any suggestions? thanks

Hello iradic,

That is to say sure that your problem comes from your players?
Ensure that your burning is reliable (checks with Clony XXL 2.0.1.5)
Test other software of burning specialized such as Alcohol 120%, Clonecd + xxl + profiler, so that you would be fixed.

Hi,

I had this same problem with my Acer DVD rom, after some reading I found
out that the firmware had to be upgraded.

I went to the manufacturer's website and downloaded the most recent firmware and following very carefully the instructions I flashed my DVD-Rom.

If you need to do this be careful, one mistake and your DVD Drive will be damaged permanently

maybe its firmware... but i thougth it is not that... theese cryptic firmware names are guilty ( gh5s )

I also thought of the firmware, but I did not know that it could flash the DVDROM.

The "flashage" is not always obvious, therefore would be careful.

I had a similar problem with Nero 6.6.0.6 recently: my Pioneer A06 wouldn't burn CDs properly anymore. I received power calibration errors or the CD's were burnt but then were unreadable. I updatet Nero to the latest version (6.6.0.12) and everything was fine again

btw. with another Nero version before that (I think 6.6.x something) I was having a similar problem with DVD+Rs (-Rs were burning fine). They burned but then appeared empty in Explorer.

It sounds weird, the errors definitely looked like either the media or the hardware was bad, but it was definitely a Nero bug, both times!
