I got MPEG2 movie. I've tried to open it with VirtualDub (1.5 with MPEG2 support), but I only get "black screen movie". I've tried to open it with ProCoder 2.0, but it crashes.
What tools can I use to edit MPEG2 HDTV videos?

DGIndex or ProjectX are you best options for starting points. Once you run it through one of those apps you'll have a d2v and ac3 you can handle as you would any other.

And are there editors like VirtualDub or Canopus ProCoder or Ulead Media Studio which understand HD video?
I'm not fan of script editing...

I guess my response would be, in the interest in quality, start becoming a fan. As to your actual question, I am sure there are editors that can handle it. Pretty much any editor that can handle MPEG2 and AC3 will handle HD source, including the mpeg2/ac3 mods for virtualdub if it's converted to a PS. Really, though, I'd recommend a route something like dgindex to avisynth to virtualdub. The little avs scripting you do have to do is short and to the point. Nice thing about HD sources is you don't need to worry about tweaking a bunch of filters (usually).
