View Full Version : Zoom filter from high resolution photos?

There are two well listed filters Pan and Zoom. Pan can work on a photo, say 3Mpix. But you have to create a high resolution video from the photo first. Normal editing software create from still images a video up to 720x480. And I doubt if Virtualdub will take a video much larger than this. Am I wrong? Can anyone suggest some editors?

If the normal zoom filter starts with a DVD dimensioned video, the zoomed in video will not look good at high zoom ratios. Ideally, I want to create a zoom video from a still image. Natually the optimum use of the photo resolution will be cropping and resizing the images into 720x480. Are there any filters that will do this? Alternatively, are there any tools to create image sequences from the still image, so that I can complete the task in several steps?

ps It's a common thing in slide shows; that's why I came across it before. I tried the free one DVDslideshow. Wow, what a piece of software, from installation to whatever. Looking for something simple and free as I won't use it often.
