Troubles with DVD Decrypter

This is a long story and question. Here we go......I bought a copy of the movie Troy from a website from Malaysia. The movie has DTS. I have ordered tons of movies from this website and have never had any troubles watching the movies nor backing them up. For some reason this one does not work in my DVD player. It says that it is all region but my dvd player says different. My dvd player is a current player from less than a yr ago. It is a Sony. However, the dvd does work in my computer's DVD player. The DVD drive is a dual layer DVD burner, also a Sony, current. The movie plays fine. I have tried copying the movie through DVD Shrink and a navigation error occurs. I have tried DVDDecrypter too. On DVDDECrypter the movie copys fine to the hard drive but I cant seem to get it to load the file for me to burn to a dvdr. Now, I have gone in to the DVD Decrypter IFO side so I could edit out what I wanted and did not want. When I go to the stream processing side and enable the stream processing there is a file that reads 16:9 something, something/PAL. Does this mean it is recorderd in PAL mode? I have taken that out of the burn process as well. After it has burned to my hard drive there is no MD5 or MDS file to click on to copy the project. Can someone help me please? Sorry if I confused anyone.

I can't believe you bitched because you didn't get an answer immediatly! (I deleted your other thread btw)

If you've bought a PAL dvd and your player doesn't support PAL, there is nothing you can do except convert it to NTSC (or buy a new player).

I doubt the 'region' of the disc is your problem - especially after you said it's region free. Of course it could be an RCE problem.

What exactly does DVD Decrypter say when you put the disc in the drive?

Have you followed any sort of guide when trying to back it up?

Ripping in IFO mode and then looking for an MDS file seems to suggest you haven't.

I am sorry if it seemed I was bitching. I sent the thread this morning and thought it was weird no one had replied. I thought that once they saw the length they ignored it and went on. I do everything the way I am supposed to, I go to write mode and then I select the IFO mode to see the streams. I then select the stream processings sections and enable the stream processing I only check what I want to copied. I uncheck everything else. I then go to the film directly and uncheck all the other items except for the movie. I then hit decrypt and it writes to the hard drive. Once done I look at the saved file and there is no mds file. What am I doing wrong?

Mode != Preview....

switching modes switches functions.. your not doing any "backup" to any iso.. your decrypting in IFO mode

I'd suggest checking out a few guides for starters and get an idea of what it is DVD Decrypter does in what mode.

Then check the help guide.. no better place for info then there

(and as a side note, decrypting will not do anything for converting from PAL to NTSC)

...or you could look on the back of the DVD case and see if it says PAL or NTSC...or Region 2...

on the back of the dvd it says region 1. In DVDDecrypter, when looking at the IFO mode and Stream Processing side it says 16:9????/PAL. I am assuming that this means it is not a region 1. In that case, is there any way to convert it using a differnt program other than DVDDecrypter. I have tried DVDShrink and it gives me a navigational error.
