I've been using DvD Shrink to copy my Dvd's. Problem I'm having is after the DVD is burned, playback is clear and perfect untill about 90% of the way finished with the movie. Where the framerate gets choppy I loose sound , and it skips several sceens ahead, OR sometimes it just stops playing all together, and prompts me to clean the DVD. This is a brand new DVD, no way its dirty. This happens everytime I play a burned DVD. When I play the original DVD it works fine.

Is there a problem with DVD shrink?

I'm using Dvd Shrink, in combination with NERO.

Thanks

edit: a more descriptive title next time please

to me this sounds like a problem with your disk.
what media are you using?

what if you try to copy the files to your pc and use a sw player?
does it give the same effect?

Verbatim DVD+R 's
DVD Shrink Creates files from the DVD into a DVDPROJECT Folder, and then from there burns the disc.

Try to burn with CopyToDVD or check your power supply...

I had a similar problem when I was using a low-spec PC. I was trying to burn a disc at its highest speed when the PC could not keep up. Reducing the burn speed cured it completely. Could be worth a try.

I've had the same trouble with a borrowed, "shrunk" DVD. Trying to copy the files to a folder on the HD gave me errors as well. If I used DVD Shrink to re-copy the bad DVD or used Nero Drive Speed to slow my DVD down, I could copy and re-burn it and it played fine.
It's likely bad media or it was burned at a faster speed than the PC or the media could handle properly (buffer underrun protection notwithstanding).

you know this type of question should be a sticky. i mean its been asked so many times before and not just in conjunction with dvdshrink.

1. make an iso. if from dvdshrink selct iso output, if other you could use imgtool or run through dvdshrink with no compression.
2. burn using dvddecrypter at lower speed, x1 or x2 is good.

no i dont care what the media is rated at and no i dont care what speed your burner can burn at. its already been said many many MANY times that some players dont like faster burnt dvds and some dvds dont work well burnt at higher speeds.

So many things can go wrong.

Reducing the burn speed from 8x to 4x seems to have fixed the problem.

As my ex-wife used to say, "fast isn't always good". :)
