How To Capture WMP Visualizations?

Does anybody know of a program that can capture Windows Media Player Visualizations for use in a video project?

Camtasia Studio and HyperCam are two of the more popular programs for screen capture. They are commercial but you can try the demo.

A free screen capture utility is part of the Microsoft Windows Media Encoder package.

Thanks for your reply Video Dude, but aren't all those programs only going to capture a single shot and not a stream of video?

They all capture video. You can record the whole screen or just specify a small section.

I personally like HyperCam the best.

I've battled with this problem before, trying to capture both the audio, and video, from WinAmp playing and showing a fullscreen visualization. Tried programs like CamStudio, and tried doing it by capturing with my ATI A-I-W video card. The problem always was that you have to have two Cpu intensive process's running at one time and it puts too much strain on the computer to get a high frame rate visualization captured. I found a good way to get it to work was just use a stand alone DVD recorder like a ilo DVDR04 connected to the S-Video output of the video card, and RCA audio cables. This gave me a DVD video of the visualization with stereo sound, works great.

What I great idea. I recently acquired a Philips DVDR75 and I never thought of that. I'll give it a try tonight.
