I'm trying to reauthor a piece with 11 VTS:s, one of which is driving me crazy. VTS10 is made up of 8 TTN:s, TTN1 holds PGC 1,9 and 10, PGC1 being the main movie, and 9,10 being duplicate VOB ID:s of the same movie.
TTN:s 2 through 8 holds PGC:s 2 through 8. These are assorted cells from the movie, duplicated VOB ID:s.
The problem is that, when remastering with Scenarist, and putting everything where it's supposed to go, I end up with TTN1 holding PGC 1,2 and 3. TTN:s 2 through 8 gets PGC:s 4 through 10. This screws up the navigation, which is fairly complex, with lots of pre commands that I don't feel up to rerouting. I haven't found any way to make Scenarist number the PGC:s as I want them. They get numbered sequentially, one TTN after another. Also I end up with 165 chapters displayed, instead of the movies 55.
Plan B was to master without PGC 9 and 10, and put them in with PGCEdit, by using the Clone PGC option. Then the PGC number becomes the right one, but PGCEdit insists to giving the cloned PGC a new TTN, and changing that is AFAIK not possible.
Now I'm out of options. I need some help from you guys.

Note that the last two PGC:s with the whole movie in duplicated VOB ID:s belong to Title(TTN): 1
Update: I had an inspiration, and went with Plan B despite PGCEdit assigning the cloned PGC:s 9 and 10 Title(TTN): 9 and 10 respectively, and it seems to work OK. It still bugs me slightly though, that I've been unable to replicate the original layout exactly.

PGC numbers are assigned by the authoring application. Some by the order in which they are defined, others group the PGCs together by title. Now, since Scenarist does the latter, it would seem that Scenarist was not used to author the original.
But it should not matter if you stick to symbolic references. This is why PGCs, and lots of other objects, have names. Programs like DoItFast4U create scripts this way.

OK. I'll stick with Plan B. It would have been nice though, if the Title(TTN) could be chosen when cloning the PGC in PGCEdit. A little item for the next versions wishlist ;-)

Yeah, altough you might not be able to create the exact same layout using scenarist it will still work as the original. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If your looking to do this by hand here's the trick with scenarist..
what you are wishing to do IS possible but a huge PITA....
Scenarist creates items based off the order you drop them in. first vobid = vobid 1, second = vobid2 etc... even if you delete that and add a new one, the new one = vobid3. This is one of the biggest reasons manually authoring in Scenarist is a Pain
To Solve your Problem you need to do this
1) Create your titles - create Title1, Title2, Title3 etc manually (not by dropping in ANY scenes but manually in the layout)
2) Create the PGC's IN ORDER in the appropriate Titles
So
PGC1 in Title 1
PGC2 in Title 2
PGC3 in Title 3
PGC4....
PGC5....
PGC6....
PGC7....
PGC8....
PGC9 in Title 1
then begin with your PG/Cells using the same logic as above.. as you can see.. a LOT of work....
there's also tricks you can do if you already have it authored by exporting it to a .SCP and moving around a few items in the "Object=Scenario" section of the script
