i have a small question, according to this link, recode 2 has also been updated on 7th april, but when i try to download package 2 , it still gives me a 34.91 mb file with same file name (no "c" attached at the end), so is it updated or not?

Only thing I have seen on their ftp site was Nero's Burning Rom and Media PLayer have been updated. Nothing about NVE/Recode updated.

Looking at the release notes, the only thing I see that has been added/change was the addition of 5.1 AC3 encoding. No appaent improvements or new features for Recode. Until they increase the speed for AVC encoding, Im sticking with Xvid. The quality/time tradeoff just isnt worth it for encoding HDTV stuff.

Yes, but you have to specify them, which means 99% of people use FTP, which is not easily cacheable.

If the default were http, most ISPs would have a cached copy and their traffic would be considerably reduced.

do u guys also experience problems, such as when a 5.1 ac3 file is selected in recode 2 and converted to stereo he-aac, u get low volume! but when a 2 -ch to stereo he-aac is done, it is almost fine! what workaround do u guys use for fixing volume problems while encoding, pls explain in detail!

neo, I have definately noticed this problem, as have others on this forum (use search), and it is the main reason I do not use Recode for serious archiving. It seems that Nerovision Express has the same bug. After some experimenting, I think that the problem is not their AAC encoder, but rather their AC3 decoder. For example, try using Foobar2000 + Nero dlls to encode an AC3 to AAC, and I don't think you will have any volume problem, because Foobar has a better AC3 decoder.

It is LONG past time this bug was fixed!

Create manually this entry. The maximum value is 128 (80h). There are possible clicks in audio when this value is near to 128 - default is 85.
