View Full Version : Is it possible to select what is encoded?

Hi Guys

Is it possible using the pro version or RB-opt to select only to encode EX the subtitles and leave the rest of the movie untouched?

I have some movies where I can fit them to a single sided DVD if I somehow could encode only the subtitles.

It would be great to keep the ORG film and Menu :D

Cheers

Are you really talking about subtitles (the text that shows up when the movie is playing)? They are incredibly small. But they can be removed easily while doing a "No Compression" rebuild.

Sorry my mistake....;)

I mean the end titles...the end credits after the movie.

Sometimes like EX HP2 the end credit can be over 320MB!!!even 420MB
But I can select to encode them to a very low bitrate in RB-OPT.
But then it reencodes the whole movie, andt thats stupid when you only need to compress the last End credits.

I have of cource removed all the other "crap" that is on the DVDs

i'm afraid you cannot do that directly with rb,
but you could just demux video for all the segments that belong to the actual movie and put them (remember the correct filenames) to your working directory before rebuilding, but that's quite a lot of work.

I remove the end credits with VOBBlanker. I couldnt get the back up to work with DVD-RB and CCE but I could with DVD-RB and HC. I'm sure there is a way to get it to work w/ CCE though.

One thing to watch, there are a couple of hacked versions of CCE out there that are questionable in reliability... enough said.

Do you think maybe I had a version of CCE that was hacked into or something and thats why I couldnt get it to work? Its entirely possible b/c I bought the computer used from a friend for school. He left all his programs and stuff on there so I wouldnt have to set anything up, as you can probably tell I'm not very tech orientated. CCE was one of them and I have no idea how he got it.

Hi jdobbs

This would be a great feature!
And would also save 6 Hours of encoding :D

A keep ORG chapter would save my day.

Right now Im removing the entire endcredit which is a shame.

Gives a brutal ending...and jumps back to the menu.

Cheers

So why not just set th end credits to slideshow?

Joe_smish

You can download old CCE trial versions from here, the Doom9 site.

These versions are sure not hacked.

You can also download the last CCE trial versions from Cinema Craft site.

Try with them.

I guess that would not affect the sound/music but the possibility to set a bit stream very low ex 500 would give a normal running end credit.

If I set it to slide show in your PRO version will it keep the rest of the DVD as ORG? and not reencode the whole movie?
And will it look at the Target size so it will utilize the full space of the DVD?

Right now I have a 320MB end credit that should be encoded to around 180 and since its mostly a black screen with txt I think it would look okay :D

And yes I can just remove it from the film that is very easy solution;) , But I would like to keep it, its alittle strange when the last scene ends and you jump directly to the menu with music blasting away:(

that would reencode the whole movie AND take into account the target size. obviously that might not be something that you want, if the untouched movie + encoded end-credits would fit to a dvd.
i think that's also possible, but then you'll need some manual work right after encoding before hitting the rebuild-btn...
