Lagging color from previous scene.

VHS through DV camera to PC.

My script is real simple, just trying out

Telecide(0 or 1) and Decimate(5)

and both have the same results. I'm not sure what to search for that would help get rid of this or if it possible to get rid of. Any ideas?

Make sure you don't have blend=true for Telecide().

Also, you need to definitively set the order parameter. The Decomb tutorial tells you how to do that.

I assume you are sure that is 3:2 material.

I had a look. I don't know why it's happening, but the two fields are both blended, so the most expedient thing to do is delete that frame.

looks like the source has been mutilated with some crappy denoiser.

I've seen such weird videos in past, too.

All scene changes blended and all motion had ghosting

Maybe it's been deinterlaced with a blend deinterlacer.

but why is it telecined then?

plus, the ghosting is even visible in the 2nd frame after the scene change

Most of the scene changes look like that. It's from an original VHS of the movie so I have no idea what they did to get it on there.
