Hi All,

I've been saving the task of backing up "Finding Nemo" (PAL region 4) until DVD-RB had the functionality to strip the extras. I set DVD-RB 0.84 Pro to use the "Menu and Moview Only (Blanks Extras)" option and set it going on the PREPARE phase, but after it completed it appeared that none of the extras had been blanked out.

I opened the "Video Segment Viewer/Editor" and with the "Show Extra Segments Only" option enable there was nothing in my window. I unticked this option and there was the movie, extras and all.

I suspect that this is because Finding Nemo has 13 VTS's, but VTS 1 contains all the movie and extras (it is not ILVU) consisting of 170 segments. The first 22 are extras, and from 146 through to 170 are extras with the rest being the main feature. I had to go through each one individually to see if it was a part of the movie or not which took me a while. Looks like it was worth it though as I was able to recover 950 odd megabyte for the movie, raising the average bitrate from 2737 to 3740 for the movie.

I have three questions;

1) Is there anything I can do to get DVD-RB to detect the extras properly? Must be a hard one as DVD Shrink doesn't seem to detect the extras properly either.

2) I know it is early days, but are there plans to make the Video Segment Viewer/Editor more user friendly? Things like stop/play/pause buttons for the video, and the ability to select multiple segments at a time to set them to blank or slideshow would be a big step. Setting 50 odd segments individually was not a lot of fun :).

3) It would be great to have the functionality to be able to re-encode/blank/slidehshow menus as well as extras. Nemo has a hefty 336MB menu that I wouldn't mind getting under control. Any ideas on if/when menu control might be added?

Anyway, keep up the fantastic work Jdobbs and crew, I've been VERy impressed with your work overall. You're fast coming round to a third donation from me :)

In other words make DVD-RB have the capabilities of VobBlanker??
