Whenever I rip DVDs (using GK 0.33.1), DivX the movie, then convert to Matroska with chapters, the chapter markers are always out of sync/alignment with respect to the movie by about the same amount of time; approximately 1-1.5 seconds. Any ideas.
The current release of GK is 0.35.
Are you converting avi to mkv or are you encoding into mkv?
What tool(s) are you using for chapter point setting?
Jggimi,
I tried encoding straight to Matroska but GK could not rename chapters from within the GK tab & encode with new names, so now I encode to avi, then convert with VDubMod.
Have tried using the chapter file created with DGIndex & chapterxtractor.

I don't have MKV expertise, and no one else has answered here, so I'll move this to the New A/V Containers forum, where you're more likely to get assistance with container management issues.

perhaps the nearest keyframe is always 1-1.5 seconds after the chapter marker...
also, sometimes the chapters on the dvd itself isn't frame accurate.

Emp3r0r,

I have manually adjusted other movies using VDMod and there are keyframes in alignment with a break in the movie to where you expect a new chapter to begin.
also, sometimes the chapters on the dvd itself isn't frame accurate.
Wouldn't be well written then.
