I'm trying to rip Attack of the Clones to my hard drive. I'd like to use Smartripper because I hear it's the best, but so far it has failed me miserably. I get the anylyze IFO ASPI device message, and my PC freezes. I've installed ForceASPI -- still have the problem. I've also tried running Smartripper while the DVD is running with PowerDVD (my PC's DVD player) hoping ASPI is running during playack -- still no luck. It's a VERY frustrating dilemma. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated...
Thanks.
~Jim
BTW
I'm running Windows XP, and I've already installed Adaptec ASPI too.

Ummm... the newest SmartRipper version I found was 2.41, and that's about 4 years old - how about using a current tool like DVD Decrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.com/)?

Yeah, I just found out that DVD Decrypter now rips in IFO Mode. That's news to me. So I suppose I'll give it a whirl.
Thanks.

I could never get smart ripper to recognize my drive so I use Dvddecrypter with Dvdshrink.

Until 2 weeks ago, I didn't know a single thing about DVD conversion. That's kinda why I'm here.
