Hello!

First some explanations about what I want to do. I try to reauthor my DVD with Scenarist and I want to keep the movie in its original quality. So I have demuxed the video and audio streams with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode to my hard drive (File Splitting: None). I hope that I am on the right way so far. If I better should split the PGC, pleas tell me.

Maybe there are some better ways or tools for this task?

After finishing this task, DVD Decrypter has created some stream information like this.

0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 7 / PTS: 00:00:00.049 / Delay: -88ms

What does LBA and PTS mean?
Is the delay a start-delay or and end-delay?

How you can see, the audio stream has some negative delay. In the manual from Scenarist is written: “The audio asset should have the same start time and duration as the video asset in the video stream” and in another thread in this forum I have read that I can correct the delay with AC3 Delay Corrector. I have opened the audio stream with this tool and the start delay set to -88ms. After writing the target file I have get these informations:

Target file information:

3 frames (96ms) have been cut at start.
292684 frames (02:36:05,888) have been written.
There are 31.25 frames in one second.

AC3 Delay Corrector has cut more than 88ms. Is this a big problem and how can I correct the delay?

Now some questions about some things in Scenarist. After I have registered the assets (the video files from DVD Decrypter) I get the follow warning.

Warning : Number of SequenceEndCode is 2.

or

Warning : Number of SequenceEndCode is 0.

What does this warning mean and how can I correct it?

I know that my video a MPEG-2 file with VBR is. But Scenarist shows under “Bitrate Type” that it is constant. I have also tried some other VBR video files and Scenarist shows for some of them the correct bitrate type.

How can I fix this?

Thanks for help.

ac3 delay corrector (and delay_cut also) dont reencode the ac3.. they just remove/add ac3 frames. so it cant cut to exact ms, it cuts as close as it can. you wont notice 8ms delay

or

that tells you how many times sequence end codes (0x000001B7) are in the video. there should only be 1 at the end of the file (and scenarist wont complain). you get this sometimes with pgc demux. also some encoders dont place end codes on the video. fortunately it is only a warning and can be ignored.

Thanks for your answer Trahald!

Can you tell me, what I should do to keep the audio sync? Maybe I should set a start time for the audio stream in Scenarist? And how can I fix the Bitrate Type so that Scenarist shows the correct one.
