I am using v.80. After the encode phase, the m2v file is coming out scrambled(lines). The avs flie plays fine in the media player. I tried to change the dgdecode file and unchecked decomb, still I get the same result.
any help would be appreciated

What encoder are you using? What version? Describe the lines... are they red on black, for example?

I am using cce 2.70.200. the movie look like its streched from one side to another. the streching looks like lines, but you can make out the movie. I tried diff. dvd's and the dvd-rb works fine. The worphed picture happens only in 3 particular dvds.

Hmm.. it must be related to the 704 horizontal resolution... I'll take a look at it.

I think you are right. I checked the 3 dvds and they are all 704 x 480.

Do you do any AVS editing with RBOpt?

I ran into this a while ago. If you feed CCE with video that has a width of 704 pixels, you get garbage. The solution is to edit the ecl file and replace all width=720 statements with width=704.

That'll work for in interim fix -- but DVD-RB has to correctly adjust for 704x sources... since they are perfectly compliant. There's one that needs to be fixed by the next version.

no avs editing---I did the 1-click backup.
Boulder....I'll try your solution, see if it works.

Yep, that shows you how few 704 width sources there really are... I just went in and made several fixes related to 704 width sources that have been there since DVD-RB first started. It will be included in version 0.84.
