Im almost sure that on my previus rips it didnt happen, or maybe it did and i only noticed today, but a coincidence is that i changed the codec for mpg2 today too so maybe thats the reason
Example, powerdvd give me the right image 4:3 but when i open the .d2v on gk and preview(crop) show me a singlty different resolution (1.50:1).
As i sayed i think it started happening after changing the codec (i tryed to go back but no luck) or maybe was a coincidence, anyone have any idea?

Check/uncheck ITU-R BT.601 standard in options and see which way you like it better .Run a search for it on here too, and read the tip in GK :)
PS: Opinions differ on it.

itu was unchecked.... but im not saying about the encoded video but it in crop windows so it should have no errors dont? or it does have?
Example a video plays fine on power dvd at 1.33:1 but on crop windows on gk if you measure the image size its 1.50:1
im very confused hehehe if its normal or its codec fault :/

Sorry. Actually I never paid attention. You can view the image resized if you prefer(see if that helps) .. it seems to be a big discrepancy though. To be honest, I don't know :)

In the resolution tab, is the proper Input Resolution and Input Pixel Aspect Ratio set?

Yup
I encoded one vob to test and the resulting rip seems to be right...
Can anyone test seeing in powerdvd resolution, then open the project on GK and see if in the crop screen the resolution changes?

I'm actually watching now a source that has 1.52 AR, so I guess its not that unusual. As long as you see that encoded video is not distorted - you shouldn't worry.

When a d2v is opened in GK, the AR that is found on the video window opening out is often somewhat distorted, even when resized. That is no indication of the AR of the resulting video. Vobs themselves show up in a different AR when opened in DVD2AVI.
I don't know why this happens. But, as len0x says, if the results turn out okay, then that's what matters.
In case you don't like the resultant AR (of the final video) because you feel there is distortion, then you may try to correct it up to a certain extent in GK. Of course, you can't have an AR of your exact choice along with manual crop.
It would have been nice if the AR (e.g. 2.35, 2.29, 2.06 etc) could be custom-keyed-in. The program would, of course, have the final say about actual height and breadth of the final video.
I don't think there's any encoding program of the nature of GK that accepts that much user-input. But, of course, an entirely manual operation with VDub can give you your exact custom AR.

It can be done already by selecting "Display AR" in input PAR section...

Vobs themselves show up in a different AR when opened in DVD2AVI.DVD2AVI displays the coded frame size.. GKnot resizes it according to the selected Input Resolution and Input Pixel Aspect Ratio.

Yes, it can be selected in the Input Pixel Aspect Ratio section. Can I opt for a custom output resolution?

Its the same thing in GK... (if you had hmod 1 and vmod 1, you'd see that).
