This piece of software seems great for MAC users. I think it should be added in the MPEG-4 FAQ. *looks at bond*

I guess Major is still going with ffmpegX. Back in the days when OS X was still new I did a couple of ports of libraries for Major (my name is somewhere on this page... http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t116471.html). Good to see it's still going, but I remember the days before it was shareware.
There are some free open source programs that are good too. They include both OpenShiiva and HandBrake by Titer <- the guy who wrote the AltiVec routines for x264.

you can use XMFFMPEG, it'a gui for ffmpeg for your *nix systems.
