Can I fix audio sync problem with IFOEdit

Hi guys,

I've used Mr Searchy for any help on this one, but can't find anything specific. I hope that someone can help. :)

I have authored my own DVD using DVD Shrink (to rip & re-encode) and DVDLab Pro (to create menus & output a playable DVD). I spent quite a bit of time doing it! But now that I have burned the DVD, I note that the audio is just a little "late" with the video, in other words, the audio sync is out.

As I mentioned, I spent quite a lot of time compiling, Shrinking, creating menus & outputting the DVD, so I would be loathed to have to do it all again for the sake of the audio being out by less than half a second.

I have heard that there is an audio delay option in IFOEdit, which I would like to use if possible, as this means that I wouldn't have to go back & re-create all the menus etc. I am aware that there is an audio delay option on DVDLab Pro, but that would mean doing exactly that, recreating menus etc.

So is there a way that I can simply re-rip the DVD using Decrypter, fix it with IFOEdit, and re-output it with IFOEdit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Audio/video delay adjustment is "inside" the VOB. There is no related info in the IFOs.

So, you have to re-mux your VOB. AFAIK, there is no prog able to change PTSs in Audios without demuxing.

But it is not so difficult. The most difficult case is if your VOB is a multi-PGC one. Even in this case, using VobBlanker is not so difficult. These are the steps:

To do with all the PGCs with synch problems in the VOB
- Use pgcDemux to demux the PGC.
- Use Muxman or IFOedit to mux again all the elementary streams with the desired delay in audio.
- Test with a SW player (PowerDVD, WinDVD) if your newly authored PGC has audio/video in synch. If not, remux again with a more accurate delay
When you have all the PGCs muxed again and in sync start VobBlanker and replace the PGCs (keeping the ones already in synch).

Hello again,

What program can I use to demultiplex .vob files to .mpv & .mp2 files? I had been doing this with DVDLab Pro, but I have come to the conclusion that it is DVDLab Pro that is knocking things out of sync at the demultiplexing stage.
